The block of flats in Gansbaai is very old, weirdly build with a courtyard. You had to go through a long passage with only one light fitting at the end. It had steep steps at the right, at the entrance, going to a second floor apartment. In the middle of the passage was a open spandrel space, big enough to hide in.

They recently closed up both. Wonder if it was because of the little boy. As children we where petrified of this passage. I was always the one who had to run through first to get to the switch, or my sister just wouldn’t go through

My dad thought it would be funny waiting in the dark, in the spandrel to give us a scare, but ended up just as scared. He could hear the giggles of a child getting louder and louder in the space he was hiding. We later found out a little boy fell to his death down the stairs.

Years later when I did my investigation, I asked around. The locals that lives next door, says the little boy comes to visit them as well. He loves playing games, moving things around, having a giggle.
