Haunted History of South Africa brings together forgotten places, local legends and personal encounters with the unexplained. Our first chapter begins along the Weskus / West Coast.
Michelle’s original blog is where this collection began. This new home continues that curiosity, while making space for the voices and memories of the people who know these places.
Not every story is the same kind of truth.
Documented history is grounded in attributed records. Oral folklore is passed between people and generations. Personal accounts describe an individual’s experience, not independently verified evidence. Creative storytelling will always be identified as such.
We aim to keep those distinctions clear, preserve source credits, and respect the people and places behind each account.
